Jim started his second career in 2015 as an insurance adjuster after a 35-year career in the RCMP. During his RCMP career, he worked in several different capacities including general duty, traffic, and marine. Jim obtained his 500t Master Certificate and was a vessel commander of the RCMP Patrol vessels in BC for 10 years. He has also received training in vessel accident investigations and supervised the RCMP small vessel fleet in BC. In addition, Jim worked as a supervisor of Detachment Commanders in Northern BC, which included all aspects of risk management.Jim completed his CIP studies through the Insurance Council of Canada remote learning in 2006, with electives in the Marine Adjusting Field. Upon retirement in 2015, he was hired as an all-lines adjuster and worked in Northern BC and Vancouver Island. He obtained his full CIP designation in 2017.Jim joined Coast Claims in 2021, specializing in auto and motorcycle claims and in liability claims, including BI, Product, Employer and Commercial General liability. Jim also specializes in marine claims for both pleasure and commercial vessels. Jim conducts investigations into various aspects of insurance claims including misrepresentation and fraud.
