Laird’s career began in the food industry as a manager and small business owner. In 1991, he joined ICBC as a Claims Adjuster and his 27-year career progressed through bodily injury and litigation adjusting. In 2000, Laird was promoted into Claims Management in the areas of Customer and Injury Services, assisting in liability and dispute resolution, mediation, small claims and Supreme Court actions. Laird specializes in automobile and general liability, personal injury, property damage and collateral investigations. Since joining Coast Claims in 2018, Laird has been enjoying opportunities to handle other areas of personal lines, commercial and marine losses.

Lester’s journey into the insurance industry began with the BCIT General Insurance and Risk Management Program. Having recently joined Coast Claims as an Independent Adjuster, Lester brings with him a wealth of experience from his five-year tenure as a Claims Examiner.

Fluent in conversational Cantonese, Lester is not only well-versed in the technical aspects of insurance but also possesses excellent communication skills, allowing him to connect with a diverse range of clients. Mark, who joined Coast Claims in 2009, has over 35 years of direct involvement in complex and litigated automobile liability, property damage and personal injury claims, along with in-depth knowledge of fraud investigation and prevention. He served five years as a Vice President with ICBC, where he led provincial fraud prevention and investigation programs as well as road safety loss management programs. He is a previous director of the Canadian Coalition Against Insurance Fraud, has extensive experience handling major losses of all types, with an emphasis on large and complex claims, and is a control adjuster for multiple commercial accounts. As a partner in Coast Claims, Mark brings invaluable management experience to the team.

Phil has been in the insurance industry for over 35 years, bringing with him a wealth of diverse and valuable expertise. He spent 25 years as a material damage estimator, supervisor, and Material Damage Program Manager, where he was responsible for the development, implementation, and day-to-day management of the Accreditation and Express Repair Programs.

Phil then moved to the private industry, undertaking roles as a supervisor and later as a manager within the automotive claims department of another organization. He further enhanced his claims knowledge and expertise by branching into property claims. Subsequently, he expanded his claims knowledge and proficiency by venturing into property claims at different companies, where he has served as a manager for the past eight years.

Ricky began his journey in the insurance industry after graduating from UBC and completing the BCIT General Insurance and Risk Management Program. He joined Coast Claims as an Adjuster in December of 2021 and is focused on property claims and automobile inspections. Prior to Coast Claims, he worked in the natural resources department in mining and forestry at BFL and as an Insurance Analyst at the City of Surrey. He has obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, CIP, and CRM designations. He is able to communicate using conversational Cantonese. Ricky has many years in customer service and diligently provides exceptional service to Insureds and Insurers.

Ross entered the insurance industry in 1989, spending the first 24 years of his career with ICBC, culminating in a leadership role as a Section Manager in the Special Investigation Unit; he joined Coast Claims in 2014. He has obtained his FCIP and CRM designations and has also taken numerous justice institute, criminal investigation, and management courses and programs. In addition to his expertise in property and liability claims, including litigated injury losses, Ross specializes in marine claims of all types. Ross’s energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and combine with his expertise to make him a valuable addition to Coast Claims.
